Strong indications that Thomas Tuchel is going to transition to a back four » Chelsea News

There is a very interesting report out this morning that covers Chelsea’s transfer plans and explains why The Blues have not announced any new signings yet.

It also goes into great detail on what Tuchel is trying to build this summer, and why we are seeing certain names mentioned that the German coach is targeting.

Sources: Chelsea optimistic of signing Matthijs De Ligt this summer, should advance this week.

It has been a long-standing talking point that there was always a belief Tuchel was looking to eventually play in a back four system at Chelsea. But for me personally, I’ve always felt that he hasn’t quite had the players to play in that formation.

The Athletic agrees with this, but they mention that Tuchel is looking to sign players who can come in and help transition to a back four this summer.

The report claims that there are now strong indications that Tuchel is looking for new signings that will ease the transition to a different system — and more specifically, that he wants to play a back four.

This is music to my ears, personally.
