Mason Mount played an insane number of minutes last season, and after come intense Covid-hit years, plus a full on schedule with England, we were very worried he would break down.
He made it through just fine in the end, and seems to have enjoyed his holiday. He made it to the Monaco Grand Prix, as well as LA and a training camp in Portugal.
We can’t believe that he’s going to be rejoining training on Saturday – it feels like just yesterday that he was playing with England in the Nations League. But the good news is that, according to the man himself, he’s feeling rested and ready for a gruelling new season to come.
“It is a new era, so we all feel very excited and, whenever a new season comes around, you are excited about what’s possible,” Mount said in quotes on the official club website.
“I can’t wait to see what happens. We’ve had a break now but we’ll see and we hope it is going to be a good year,” Mount added.
“I am feeling rested and ready to go.”
Let’s hope he’s eased back into it slowly. It’s important for everyone to be sharp by the time the Premier League season starts, but this is going to be an exceptional season with the World Cup plonked into the middle of it.
